Dr. Christoph Haimberger

Managing Partner

Christoph is a managing partner at Oaklins Austria, specializing in the TMT sector, including IoT, artificial intelligence and enterprise SaaS, as well as business support services, healthcare and cleantech. With over 25 years of experience, primarily as a private equity and venture capital investor, he has been involved in various mergers and acquisitions, venture capital fundraisings, and due diligence and private equity transactions across diverse sectors in Central and Eastern Europe, Israel and the USA. Christoph has a strong background in equity capital markets (ECM), drawing on his expertise as both an investor and a corporate venture capital (CVC) specialist.

Prior to joining the firm, Christoph served as CEO of the €200 million Austrian sovereign wealth fund and co-founded several investment funds, leading them from strategy development and fundraising to successful exits. Among these was the CVC fund of a leading CEE bank, where he continues to serve on the advisory board of its second fund generation. His career includes senior roles at three prominent PE/VC groups in CEE. Christoph has also held board positions at several enterprise SaaS companies. He has a PhD in Finance and an engineering certificate in automation technology.
