Mobeus has acquired Distant Journeys

Mobeus Equity Partners has acquired Distant Journeys. Mobeus will support co-founder and MD, Simon Whittle. With the new funding, Distant Journeys plans to enhance its offerings in established markets and aims to extend its reach with expansion into new destinations.

Distant Journeys is an award-winning, leading provider of long-haul escorted tours. The directors at Distant Journeys have over 80 years combined experience designing escorted touring holidays in Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Canada and Alaska, Japan, Vietnam and Cambodia, Sri Lanka and China. Using its extensive knowledge, the company has created an exciting style of flexible escorted tours combining the delights and camaraderie of group travel with the flexibility to allow for individual tastes and personal interests.

Oaklins Cavendish, based in the UK, advised Mobeus, a leading equity investor in UK-based SMEs, on its management buy-out of Distant Journeys.
