Ryan is a partner at Oaklins E. Canada and is based in Toronto. He has over 15 years of experience in representing shareholders on their mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and capital raising needs. Ryan is passionate about working closely with entrepreneurs to understand their business concerns and assisting them in achieving their strategic and financial objectives. He has successfully guided a number of entrepreneurs in the development of their strategic growth plans, and as a result, has become a trusted advisor on their transaction-related matters. Ryan also has extensive experience in assisting shareholders of private enterprises in developing their succession plans for the eventual sale of their businesses. He has advised clients in a diverse range of industries, including manufacturing, food & beverage, retail & dealerships, business services and healthcare services. Recent transactions he has advised on include the recapitalization of Sommers Generator Systems, a manufacturer of commercial-use diesel generators; the sale of Schaaf Foods Inc., a commercial loaf-cake manufacturer and wholesaler, to Alchemy Capital Partners; the sale of Outillages King Canada Inc., a machinery and power tool distributor, to Einhell Germany AG; the sale of Telcon Datvox Inc., a network cabling, wiring and installation business serving commercial clients, to WesTower Communications Ltd. (a subsidiary of Exchange Income Corporation); and the business strategic review and shareholder options assessment of a national healthcare clinic specializing in rehabilitation and paramedical services.

Prior to joining Oaklins E. Canada, Ryan was an M&A director at MNP Corporate Finance in Toronto and a vice president at KPMG Corporate Finance in Vancouver. Before that, he worked in the metals and mining investment banking division at a Canadian-based bank. Ryan’s career began at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their assurance and M&A transaction services group. He is a chartered professional accountant (CPA, CA) and obtained his BCom at the University of Toronto from the Rotman School of Management. He also has an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business, specializing in strategy and entrepreneurship.
