Gabriel is a partner at Fortezza Partners, one of Oaklins’ member firms in Brazil. He has over 10 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions and equity private placements. Gabriel has led domestic and cross-border transactions in several sectors, such as the agribusiness, healthcare, services, consumer, retail, real estate, financial services and technology. Some notable transactions include the US$405 million sale of 90% of Selecta, one of the largest global producers of soybean protein concentrate (SPC), to the Korean conglomerate CJ; the R$1.4 billion capital increase of Renova, one of the largest renewable power players in Brazil, with Cemig’s entry in the control block and the subsequent US$123 million (R$670 million) acquisition of Brasil PCH; the acquisition of the health solutions division of Tempo Assist by Qualicorp, the largest health plan consultancy and brokerage services player in Brazil; and the sale of a minority stake in Brilia, a leading Brazilian LED lighting solutions provider, to Cartesian Capital Group.
Prior to joining Fortezza Partners, Gabriel was a partner at BRAVA Negócios, an M&A advisory boutique in São Paulo. Previously, he worked in the M&A division at BR Partners, a Brazilian investment banking firm, and at Patria Investimentos, one of the biggest private equity firms in Brazil. Gabriel has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Insper in São Paulo and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
