Irajá Guimarães

Irajá is a partner at Olimpia Partners, one of Oaklins’ member firms in Brazil. With over 25 years of experience in banking, he has participated in numerous transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, buy-outs and debt and equity offerings across several industries. Recent transactions include the acquisition of Corsan by Aegea Saneamento as part of the privatization process led by the state of Rio Grande do Sul; the sale of Elizabeth Revestimentos, one of the largest ceramic tile manufacturers in Brazil, to Eliane Revestimentos, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries; and the combination of SulAmérica, a leading insurance company in Brazil, with Rede D’Or São Luiz, the largest Brazilian hospital network.

Prior to joining Olimpia Partners in 2009, Irajá was an executive director at Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for covering financial institutions and private equity firms in Brazil. Previously, he spent nine years at Merrill Lynch, during which time he worked in both São Paulo and New York. Irajá began his career as a corporate credit analyst at Citibank. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP).
