LernQuadrat has been acquired by Studienkreis GmbH
The Zimmermann family, shareholders of LernQuadrat, have sold the company to Studienkreis GmbH.
Headquartered in Vienna, Austria, LernQuadrat (Bildungsmanagement GmbH) is the market leader in private education with over 11% market share but still with a tremendous growth potential. The company was founded in 1997 and currently operates around 80 branch offices (approximately 50% are own subsidiaries and around 50% are franchise partners) all over Austria with over 10,000 customers and 2,000 tutors. LernQuadrat also offers tutor and teacher training. The company has experienced strong double-digit growth over the past years and achieved revenues of US$13.2 million with an EBIT of US$1.2 million.
Founded in 1974, Studienkreis is a private tutoring company with headquarters in Bochum, Germany. About one third of its approximately 1,000 locations is operated as a franchise. In 2017, the company was acquired by IK Small Cap I Fund (IK Investment Partners).
