Recent transactions he has advised on include the sale of Stageline, the leading manufacturer of mobile stages, to BDG & Associates and Fonds FTQ; the investment in BW Services, a multi-location railcar servicing company, by Sojitz Corporation of America; the sale of Expretio, a subsidiary of SNCF and the leading provider of revenue management software to the rail industry, to Modaxo, a division of Constellation Software; the sale of Hangingstone Ventures Inc., a hydrovac service provider, to Infracon Construction; and the sale of Brookdale Treeland Nurseries Ltd., a grower and supplier of live garden plants and decorative holiday greenery, to Rouge River Capital.

Prior to joining Oaklins and following a few years in consulting, Bastien worked at CAD Railway Industries, where he was in charge of operations and supporting the M&A strategy. Bastien has an MSc in Strategy and a bachelor’s degree in finance, both from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal.
