Senior Advisor
John is a senior advisor at Oaklins DeSilva+Phillips in New York and a member of the firm’s technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) team. He is also a member of Oaklins’ artificial intelligence team and its enterprise SaaS team. John specializes in sell-side, buy-side and advisory assignments for clients in enterprise software, artificial intelligence and data, IT services and consulting, internet, SaaS, customer experience and CRM, martech, sales enablement, data and analytics, fintech, healthtech, and digital media and digital marketing. Notable martech, SaaS and AI-related transactions John has advised on include the sales of Admeta to WideOrbit, Ad-Juster to Innotech, WDA to [x+1], Vocada to Oracle, Helixa to Telmar, Critical Mention to Onclusive, Epicenter to Stagewell and Navita to Enghouse Systems. He has also assisted on other Oaklins transactions, including the sales of Embrace to Aereon, OBI4wan to Spotler Group and Grazper Technologies ApS to Yokogawa Electric Corporation.
Previously, John was a founder, CEO and owner/operator of several fintech, enterprise software and CRM software advisory and technology industry analyst consulting firms, including London-based INFACT Research, which he founded and where he advised top-tier management consulting and private equity firms (including McKinsey, Accenture, General Atlantic and 3i), technology companies, startups and large corporates. Prior to this, he was a senior industry analyst at New Science Associates, where he focused on artificial intelligence. After college, John worked at several software companies and digital consulting firms as an artificial intelligence and user experience (UX) software developer and software designer. Early in his career, John also worked on AI and UX for two years in association with the world-renowned technology innovation center Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). He has a BSc in Computer Studies from Hallam University in Sheffield, UK.
