Larry Newell

Larry is a partner at ZIMMA Corporate Finance, Oaklins’ member firm in Mexico. With over 40 years of experience in the chemical industry, he has participated in diverse strategic advisory deals for relevant companies in this sector. He has advised specialty chemical distributors and manufacturers as well as other large petrochemical distributors with a presence both in Mexico and abroad.

Prior to joining ZIMMA, Larry worked for 30 years at Prove-Quim as CEO and chairman of the board. After leaving Prove-Quim, he was the founding partner of The Friedman Group in Latin America, an organization dedicated to sales training and consulting to the retail industry. Larry has also been a member of the board of directors of several companies and institutions in Mexico as well as in Canada and the United States. He has a degree in economics from Allegheny College, an MBA from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a postgraduate degree in finance from the Instituto de Banca y Finanzas (IBAFIN).
