About Hærup Biogas
Founded in 2018, Hærup Biogas is owned and developed by the private investors, John Jensen, a local farmer who also supplies biomass to the plant, Martin Rasmussen, a local businessman, and Jesper Nør Christensen, the CEO. The plant was designed to supply the nearby district heating plant in Klejtrup. Currently, the plant has a capacity to produce an annual output of 7 million Nm³ CH₄ (equivalent to 70 GWh biogas), based on a biomass intake of 121,400 tonnes. Hærup Biogas has plans to establish a biogas upgrading facility to produce biomethane for injection into the gas grid, to fully utilise its existing production capacity. The new ownership will ensure the financial resources and expertise needed to realise this development.
