New promotions at Oaklins Sweden

Jakob Mårtensson and Christos Karabelas earned a promotion to Associate Directors as of January 2025. Both Jakob and Christos bring relevant M&A experience, where they have contributed to the company’s transition to an M&A firm with a clear focus on entrepreneurs on the sell-side and strategic cross-border acquisitions on the buy-side.

Jakob joined the firm in 2019 and currently holds the position of Associate Director, leading transactions in his role as project manager. His key area of M&A expertise lies in the technology sector. Jakob leads Oaklins Sweden’s SaaS vertical, where he collaborates closely with Oaklins’ SaaS specialists globally and maintains regular contact with the sector’s leading investors and strategic players.
Prior to joining Oaklins, Jakob worked with business development at Egmont, one of the leading multimedia publishing companies in the Nordics. Jakob has a BSc in Business and Economics, with a specialization in finance and accounting & financial management, from the Stockholm School of Economics.
Christos joined Oaklins in 2020 and currently serves as an Associate Director, leading M&A transactions as a project manager. With a track record of advising founder-led businesses on the sell-side and supporting leading corporates and investment firms on the buy-side, he has gained valuable experience in managing various types of transactions.
At Oaklins, Christos leads the firm’s consumer M&A efforts in Sweden, with a strong focus on design and lifestyle brands. He works closely with Oaklins colleagues globally to provide tailored support for businesses in the consumer sector and actively engages with strategic and financial investors in the space.
Prior to joining Oaklins, Christos worked as an analyst on both public and private M&A transactions at Handelsbanken Capital Markets. He also has previous M&A advisory experience from Lincoln International. Christos has a BSc in Business and Economics, with a major in corporate finance, from Lund University and the University of St. Gallen.
